In honor of National Public Works Week, the City of Huntington Beach Public Works Department held its annual open house during Surf City Nights on May 12, bringing booths, demonstrations, and a fleet of equipment to downtown. City Manager Travis Hopkins and Public Works Operations Supervisor Terry Tintle offered remarks on the department's role in keeping the city's infrastructure running. Mayor Casey McKeon also attended with his family, highlighting the department's wide-ranging work from water and sewer systems to street maintenance and beach upkeep. Attendees could visit department booths, earn stamps at each station, and spin a prize wheel.
