The City of Huntington Beach honored Vietnam War veterans at a recognition event held at the Huntington Beach Library in observance of National Vietnam War Veterans Day, designated by federal law as March 29th each year.
The event brought together veterans, community members, and local partners — including BrightStar Care, which works with the Huntington Beach Library to connect veterans with benefits assistance. The Mayor spoke about a council tradition of inviting veterans to lead the Pledge of Allegiance at city meetings, a practice developed in partnership with the American Legion. Veterans and attendees reflected on the service and sacrifice of those who served during the Vietnam era.
